FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR NEW PARENTS

We take care of you and your family at every life stage. Now, with the installation of the latest medical technologies
and electronic medical records, you can expect improved communications and efficient medical care at each of our clinics.

Which doctors are in the clinic?  Will I be seen by my own pediatrician?

Our practice is made up of several physicians, all board certified/board eligible in pediatrics or family practice.  We also have 2 physician assistants.  For routine well-baby visits, you should schedule ahead to see your pediatrician.  For sick visits or if your doctor is not available, you may be offered an appointment with another pediatrician.  We use electronic medical records, so all our physicians have access to your records.  We do have 3 locations.

What are your office hours?   What do I do in case of after-hours problems?

Our clinic is open for appointments from 8 AM to noon, and 1 PM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday.  A physician is always on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.  Please call the answering service to contact the on-call physician if you have problems after hours.

When will I be seen by the doctors for the first newborn check up?

When you deliver your baby, inform your hospital nurses of your pediatrician’s name.  The hospital will contact us directly.  The on-call doctor for our practice will see your newborn at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.  Depending on your child’s hospital stay, we may want to see you in the clinic as soon as 2-3 days after discharge from the hospital and usually by 2 weeks of age.  At Houston Northwest Hospital, neonatologists see all newborns.

What is the schedule for well child exams?

Routine well child exams are an important part of your baby’s health.  At these visits, we address any problems and perform a complete physical exam.  We also assess for developmental milestones, address upcoming advances, and provide important immunizations.  These visits are typically scheduled at 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months,  and 18 months, then yearly starting at age 2.

How do I contact the doctors or nurses?

Our phone number to all clinics is 281-537-0300.  At busy times, you may be asked to leave a message.  Our telephone assistants check messages throughout the day.  We will return most messages on the same day.
